There were gold ornaments found in Fort Canning Hill.This source can tell us that people were wealthy in Singapore before 1819.Gold is very expensive and could only be afforded by the rich.The people in Singapore before 1819 were very wealthy,allowing them to buy and afford gold!Here is a picture of it

What was the culture in Singapore like before 1819?

Cultural aspects:There were Indian spices found in fort canning.This can prove that life was prosperous for people in 1819 as people could try the Indian delicacies and could and allowed them to know what Indians ate almost everyday!Here is a picture of the spices.
